You can do more than just ask colleagues to wear their jeans.  Hold an extra fundraising event to boost the amount you raise.

As well as wearing jeans why not try some of our additional fundraising ideas to boost the amount you raise and add some extra fun to your Jeans for Genes Day. From cake sales to fashion shows our fun and easy fundraising ideas have something for everyone.

  1. Hold a cake sale - with blueberry muffins, denim donughts and jean-clad gingerbread men
  2. Customise your jeans with fabric paint, glitter and jewels then hold a fashion show for parents, don’t forget to charge a £1 entrance fee.
  3. Sell our Fifi stickers available at www.jeansforgenes.com/webshop
  4. Put on a dance production or show and charge £1 entry to parents.
  5. Make some of our arts and crafts activities and then exhibit the artwork charging parents £1 to enter.

  1. Turn the day into an enterprise initiative. Divide the class into two ‘businesses’ and think of ways to raise money for Jeans for Genes. See which business can raise the most money.  
  2. Make your own Jeans for Genes badges and sell them at lunchtime or at a summer fete
  3. Sponsor your teacher to dress up for the day in a silly outfit. The sillier the better!
  4. Jean-ify your classroom or school hall and have a denim party!
  5. Hold a bad taste day- pay £1 to wear the worst fashion disaster you can think of.
